STATEMENT
Landscape is a construct. Like nature, what we call landscape is "defined by our
vision and interpreted by our minds." landscape encompasses both scenery and
environment but is equivalent to neither. As D.W. Meinig put it, "Environment
sustains us as creatures; landscape displays us as cultures."

Photographer Statement
Specializing in Landscape Photography, I have been photographing in the
Western United States for over thirty years. My photographic journey has been in
search of the magnificent and unique features of the land. The earth is composed
of a natural community of elements that interact with each other and light. This
natural relationship has been the main focus of my photographic work. Much has
been written about the changing landscape, the destruction of the land and
man's relationship to the natural order. In my work I have tried not only to pay
respect to the natural order and beauty of the earth but also to show reason for
its preservation.
